Cleaning Instructions

Most KC3DPrints items are made from PLA, a plant-based plastic. A few items – car accessories and wall-hanging pieces – are made from PETG. If you're not sure which yours is, please contact us.

Caring for PLA items (most products)

  • Wipe clean with a soft, damp cloth. For marks, use a little mild washing-up liquid in cool or lukewarm water, then dry with a soft cloth.
  • Do not use hot water and do not put items in the dishwasher – PLA softens and can warp from around 50–60°C.
  • Keep out of hot cars, away from radiators and heaters, and out of strong direct sunlight for long periods.
  • Avoid harsh chemicals, solvents (such as acetone or nail-polish remover) and abrasive scourers.
  • Dust with a soft brush for detailed pieces such as book nooks and figures.
  • Articulated fidget toys: move joints gently and don't force them past their natural range.

Caring for PETG items (car accessories and wall-hanging items)

  • PETG is more tolerant of heat and sunlight than PLA, but still clean only with a damp cloth and mild soap.
  • No dishwashers, boiling water or harsh solvents.
  • For wall-hanging items, check screws and fixings from time to time and don't overload shelves or hooks.

Food safety

Our items are not food-safe unless the product listing clearly says so. Please don't use them for direct contact with food or drink, and keep small parts away from young children.

Protect your 3D printed items by following our recommended cleaning and storage guidelines. Maintain their beauty by with a few simple guidlines!

1. Gentle Surface Cleaning

Use a damp cloth to gently wipe the surface of your 3D print.
2. Avoid Harsh Chemicals

Do not use strong cleaning agents, as they can damage the finish — especially on detailed dragons.
3. Keep Away from Water Submersion

Never fully submerge your 3D prints in water unless intended; moisture can seep into small gaps and cause damage.
4. Quick Food Spill Cleanup

If your 3D print comes into contact with food, wipe it immediately to prevent staining or odour.
5. Air Dry Only

Allow your print to air dry naturally before handling.
6. Avoid Sun Drying

Do not leave your print in direct sunlight to dry, as heat can deform or melt it.
7. Dust Removal Tips

Use a microfibre cloth and compressed air to gently remove dust without scratching the surface.
8. Handle with Care

Be gentle — 3D prints are durable but not indestructible.
9. Store in a Cool, Dry Place

Avoid storing your prints in damp or overly hot areas — extreme temperatures can warp the material.
10. Keep Away from Pets & Small Children

Tiny claws, teeth, or curious hands can cause scratches, chips, or break delicate parts.
11. Avoid Abrasive Cleaning Tools

No scouring pads or rough sponges — they can scratch and dull the surface.
12. Rotate Display Position

If on display in sunlight or under strong light, rotate occasionally to prevent uneven fading.
13. Check for Loose Parts

If your print has moving or modular sections, inspect them occasionally and handle with extra care.
